What this costs, in public

Four ways to work with us, with real starting numbers attached. Most firms in this industry make you sit through two calls to learn whether you're in the right bracket. This page is the alternative.

Budget bands

What each budget actually buys

Including the band where we'll tell you to hire someone else. Being wrong for a project is not a failure; discovering it in month four is.

  • Under $12,000

Probably not us for a build

At this level you're better served by a freelancer or a well-configured off-the-shelf tool, and we'll say so on the first call rather than sell you a thin engagement. A discovery is the exception: it's worth buying on its own, and you own the output whether or not we build the thing.

  • $12,000 – $60,000

    A focused build

One well-defined system or a significant addition to something existing. Discovery, build, launch and handover. This is the most common first project.

  • $60,000 – $250,000

    A platform, or a team

A multi-module system with integrations, or a dedicated team of two to four engineers running for several quarters.

  • $250,000+

    A long-term engineering partnership

Multiple teams, ongoing roadmap ownership, architecture leadership. Typically clients who started with a smaller project two or three years ago.

  • Discovery & Assessment

You know something needs to change and want a plan before committing budget.

    From $6,000

Fixed price, quoted after the first call

    1–3 weeks

A scoped piece of consulting that ends in a document you own. Buy this on its own: the output is deliberately specific enough for another vendor, or your own team, to execute from.

    Includes

    • Interviews with the people who do the work today
    • Review of existing systems, data and integrations
    • Written scope with explicit exclusions
    • Architecture and technology recommendations with reasoning
    • Release plan with per-release estimates
    • Fixed price for the build, or an honest reason we can't quote one yet
    • Risk register

    Not included

    • Implementation
    • Any obligation to continue with us

  • Fixed-Scope Build

    Most common

A defined project with a clear finish line and a budget that needs certainty.

    From $12,000

Fixed price against a discovery scope

    8–20 weeks typical

We quote a fixed price from the discovery document and hold it. Changes are priced as written change orders, so the number only moves when you decide it should.

    Includes

    • Everything in the agreed scope, at the quoted price
    • Staging environment from week one
    • Weekly demo and written progress note
    • Budget burn reported weekly
    • Automated tests on business-critical paths
    • Documentation, runbooks and recorded training
    • 30 days of post-launch support
    • A support retainer quoted before launch, so day 31 isn't a cliff

    Not included

    • Work outside the agreed scope, without a change order
    • Third-party licences and cloud costs (billed to your accounts directly)

  • Dedicated Team

Ongoing roadmap you can't staff, or a team you need to scale for a few quarters.

    From $6,000

    Per engineer, per month

3-month minimum, then 30 days' notice

Senior nearshore engineers embedded in your process, working your roadmap. You interview every candidate and hold veto. Rates vary with seniority and specialization.

    Includes

    • Full-time engineers dedicated to your account
    • You interview and approve every placement
    • Employment, payroll, equipment and compliance handled by us
    • Internal code review before work reaches your reviewers
    • A named backup engineer familiar with your codebase
    • Free replacement, with no billing for ramp-up, if a placement isn't working
    • One US invoice

    Not included

    • Project management, unless you want us to provide it
    • Guaranteed delivery dates: you own the roadmap and the priorities

  • Support & Maintenance

Software you depend on that needs to stay healthy, patched and available.

    From $3,500

    Per month, by system complexity

Monthly, cancel with 30 days' notice

Take-over and ongoing care of existing systems, including ones we didn't build. Begins with a paid audit so we both know what we're taking on.

    Includes

    • Defined response times by severity, in writing
    • Monitoring, alerting and verified backups
    • Security patching and dependency updates
    • A named engineer who knows your system
    • Monthly health and cost report
    • An agreed allowance of small changes each month

    Not included

    • New feature development beyond the monthly allowance
    • Emergency out-of-hours cover, unless contracted separately

How we price

Four things we'll hold to

Including one that costs us deals regularly.

  • 01

We publish our numbers because vague pricing wastes everyone's time

Most firms in this industry make you sit through two calls to learn whether you're in the right bracket. If our numbers don't work for you, you've saved a week finding out.

  • 02

The cheapest bid is usually the most expensive project

We are not the lowest-cost option and we won't pretend to be. Under-priced work gets recovered through change orders, junior staffing, or a vendor who walks away mid-project.

  • 03

You are never surprised by an invoice

Budget consumed and remaining, in writing, weekly. Scope changes priced and approved before the work happens.

  • 04

No lock-in as a business model

Your code, your infrastructure, your accounts. Monthly agreements cancel with 30 days' notice. We'd rather earn the next month than trap you in it.
